A potent digestive aid* Promotes optimal stomach acidity* Support better nutrient absorption* The acidic environment in the stomach is vital for digesting food. Hydrochloric acid (or HCL) maintains a pH in the stomach of approximately 2.0, which is optimal for digestion and also protects the stomach from potentially harmful microorganisms. Hydrochloric acid in gastric juice secretions activates the enzyme pepsin to initiate the breakdown of proteins.* Deficiency of Gastric Acid Stomach acid is a powerful digestive aid. After a high-protein meal, the pH in a healthy stomach may drop to as low as 1 or 2. However, buffers quickly raise the pH back to 3 or 4. With age, stomach acid secretion tends to decrease, resulting in low stomach acid, poor digestion, and mineral deficiency. But HCL supplements help make minerals and nutrients more absorbable. Achieving the correct pH is a key to maintaining proper digestive function and overall health.* Most people use Betaine HCL, but if you develop sensitivity to it, consider HCL 5% drops. In very rare cases people have too much acid; in that case you will feel a burning sensation or heartburn when taking HCL with your food.*

    Directions: Put up to 10 drops in food per use or up to 45 drops total per day in food.

    Note: Hydrochloric Acid can be taken with any type of food. It can be taken with water or juice.
